Exciting changes are in store for the Cal Poly in Thailand Program. The program has moved to summer quarter allowing more students and faculty to apply. Since 1995, Cal Poly students have been studying in Thailand and learning about the linkages between the U.S., particularly California, and Southeast Asia. As the only Asian nation to never have been colonized or occupied by Western powers, Thailand retains a unique character, with an unusual blend of ancient culture and modern industry.
While on the program, students obtain between 12 units of Cal Poly credit. Students will study with Cal Poly faculty at Chiang Mai University in Northern Thailand and Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University in Bangkok, located in the heart of the city. Students will travel to local sites in and around Chiang Mai and Bangkok, study Thai, and visit Angkor Wat, Cambodia.
