Choose an international study abroad experience with department exchanges or exchange to a partner university within U.S. territories and Canada through the National Student Exchange program:

Department Exchanges Exchange Student Copenhagen Exchange

A number of Cal Poly colleges and departments have exchange agreements with universities around the world. Various advantages exist with participating in exchange programs:

  • Earn Cal Poly credit within an academic discipline
  • Apply through the college or department
  • Pay only Cal Poly fees
  • Use financial aid for the study abroad experience

How to Apply:

  • Notify the designated college or department exchange program coordinator for the program in which you wish to participate.
  • Complete and sign application materials provided by the college or department exchange program coordinator.
  • Review a budget of expenditures that you will incur while on the exchange program.
  • Attend quarterly pre-departure orientations for students studying abroad.

National Student Exchange (NSE) NSE Students

The NSE program provides opportunities for undergraduate students to study for up to one calendar year at another NSE member college or university. With more than 190 colleges and universities from which to choose, you should be able to find a campus with just the right courses, facilities, and environment to meet your personal and academic needs and interests. As you consider the possibilities, you will notice that NSE extends beyond the borders of the United States to include U.S. territories as well as some Canadian provinces. Students will pay in-state fees, have access to financial aid, and can seek pre-approvals for course substitutions. Study away in the U.S.A.!
